Today was a full day of travel, as we couldn't get a direct flight from Beijing to Tokyo.  We had a very early 6am shuttle bus from the Capitol Hotel to the airport.  Good thing we had decided to check out last night as to avoid any confusion in the early morning.  The shuttle bus was packed with people, but waiting for us right on time at 6am for the short trip to the Beijing airport.

We slept like three and a half felled logs last night (Jaimie not so good).  After traveling from 5 AM to 10 PM we crashed in the Tokyo, Narita Airport Hilton Hotel.  This morning Jackie and I arrived at the free breakfast at 6:30 AM and managed to wake up with a custom-made omelet and black coffee.  Jaimie and Mario managed to get to the lobby at 6:59 AM to catch our 7 AM shuttle.

We had another date with the Russian embassy this morning.  We had our executive lounge breakfast and left Jax and Tom behind while Jaimie and I ran the errand of submitting our passports for a Russian visa.   We could have done this in DC, but we didn't want to take up time while were in the US getting ready for Brendan and Danielle's wedding.   We headed out to open up the iron curtain - the embassy opened at 9:30 am, we arrived at 9:31am.  We were #34 in line.

We started off the morning with another buffet breakfast in the Conrad lounge.  There are both Japanese and American style choices there, and we sampled a little bit of both.  We were hoping to get out of the hotel early to walk around the Ginza area and go to the park near the imperial palace.  However, we looked out the window and noticed everyone down below had umbrellas - must be raining.  We haven't had a full sunny day at all in the last 3 countries!  We decided to wait out the rain for a little while and about a half hour later, the skies were looking brighter and we ventured out.

We woke to our last morning at the Conrad Hotel.  The Executive Lounge chef will cook you a made to order omelet.  There is an amazing array of any kind of breakfast food that you can imagine.  The lounge itself feels like your home kitchen with your own chef.  I am going to miss waking up to this.  Mario and Jaimie were off once again to the Russia Embassy to pick up their visas.  We were excited to learn that they were successful.
