Note: There are a lot of details on this posting, as I want to convey the small things that happened leading up to a good lesson. Our flight last night was tough. After actually going through 3 different security xray screenings (I guess quantity = quality :)), we finally were allowed to wait for our plane. After 3 months of travelling, there are many things that we miss, like being kept informed about why the plane is delayed etc. |

We were up early today to catch our 6am train to Agra, and due to the hassle we went through yesterday, we didn't have tickets. We got there extra early at 5am so that we could purchase our tickets. Luckily, we knew our way around the train station a little bit by then and were able to book the 1st class A/C car with no problems. With time to spare, we waited for the train, and it arrived just on time. |

Another painful wakeup at 4 am with very little sleep. We quickly got ready, and headed out at 4:20am. When we got downstairs, we discovered that the front gate was pad locked. As we were looking around for options, Jaimie was a bit startled to find a langur monkey sitting on top of the gate peering down at us (it was dark out - imagine seeing a monkey 2 feet on top of your head!). |

We got to sleep in this morning, until 5:50am :) Our morning safari left at 6:30am. This time, all of the jeeps were already reserved, so we had to ride in what they call a "canter". The canter is a large open roofed bus that fits about 20 people. Unfortunately, we were the last ones out of our room, and the only seats left were 2 middle seats in the back row (5 people total) - and this back row is not really suited to hold 5 adults! We had to turn and squish our shoulders together to fit in. |

Jaimie's Birthday today. We were on our way to Udaipur from Sawai Madhopur. We caught our train without issue last night at 12:30am. When we boarded, we discovered that one of our beds was in the compartment, while the other in the "hallway". Annoying, I really began to hate that train booking agent (see Monday). Anyways, we just asked the train operator if we could switch to another compartment (as the original one already had 3 people in the 4 beds), and he said sure. Sleep came easy as we have had a busy week. |
