Well, we skipped yesterday's writing because it was more a travel day then anything - we spent the day in the British Airways lounge, and then boarded our 11.5 hour flight to South Africa from London.   Our trip today takes us to Cape Town, South Africa.  Cape Town is the 2nd largest city in South Africa.

We had a full day of touring the city of Cape Town today.  After a full night's rest last night and a good home cooked breakfast at our B&B this morning, we set out upon the city to see some of the sights.  There is a lot to do in Cape Town, and there is no way we could cover it all in 1 1/2 days, but we tried!

I can't tell you how great it was to have an air conditioner that was quiet in our hotel room!! We didn't use it the night before, but tonight the wind was so great that our balcony door would shut, even with a huge weight in front of it.  We had to shut the balcony doors because it made too much noise slamming in the wind.   We held our breath as we turned on the AC = magic - it was just a whisper!  Sounds like a weird thing to be excited about, but after 2 months of horrible noises when using the AC, a good nights sleep is very valuable :).  We awoke at 7:15 am, as we had a busy day ahead of us.

When we had "checked-in" yesterday - we asked for a 7:20 am breakfast, as we had to leave early.  The girl said no problem.   The girl appeared to be more the maid than the "front-desk" person.  When we asked a few questions, she referred us to the owner who wasn't there.   When we had arrived the night before, no one was there (we had a key to the front door).  And now, in the morning, no one was there (and no breakfast).   A strange stay to have no real contact with anyone - pretty much just a nice bed and room to stay in.
